Community Rugby
The Illawarra District Rugby Union club competition, comprises 13 clubs across an expansive, and geographically diverse zone.
Our long running competition, welcomes all members of the community to join teams across junior, senior and women's competitions.
Saturday afternoons from April to September see the Illawarra's premiere senior code get under way. Clubs fire up their BBQ's, volunteers man the canteens, and supporters flock to clubs along the coast to support their teams in what is always exciting, and impressive competition.
Sunday mornings each winter, bring family and friends out, to rally behind their young ones in friendly, though solid competition. Warmed by a coffee and bacon and egg roll made by club volunteers, supporters gather to cheer their children on, and to watch volunteer coaches across the district help our young rugby players of the future, learn the rules, and importantly learn the art of good sportsmanship.
All of our clubs attract loyal support from the community and local business, as a result of the exciting talent and great sportsmanship on display each and every week throughout the season, and we pass our thanks on to all of those sponsors, whose support helps to keep our clubs running.
Please check our Clubs page, to find your local club. They'd love to hear from you!

Junior Club Rugby
Junior Club Rugby is an amateur competition open to all little players in the category of under 7's, right through to 17's and under.
Though clubs are spread across an expansive geographic area, the vast majority of games are within the local Illawarra area. Players are required to make their own way to Sunday morning competition at the designated ground, according to the draw.
Sunday morning games are always well supported by club volunteers, parents, and families hitting the sidelines to support these young players with cheers which are always well received.
Club volunteers fire up BBQ's and man club canteens ensuring enough bacon and egg rolls for the crowds, and coffee vans on hand to keep cold hands warm on early winter mornings.
Get on board with Illawarra Junior Club Rugby, contact your local club, and find your small person's best fit. No experience is necessary, all our volunteer coaches ensure all players are taught the rules, and most importantly, that they learn the art of good sportsmanship.
